Ballyfermot Guttering
Dublin rain does not forgive bad guttering
Rain finds every weakness. I have been fixing and fitting gutters across Dublin long enough to know that a poorly hung downpipe or a sagging gutter run will punish a homeowner inside twelve months. We work across the city, and we see the same problems repeating on the red brick terraces of D10 and the pebble-dash semi-detached estates ringing them.
What we do
We handle the full range of rainwater and roofline work. No fuss about it.
- New gutter installation and full replacements in uPVC, aluminium seamless, and cast iron
- Half-round, ogee, and square-line profiles fitted and properly graded for fall
- Downpipe repair and replacement, hopper heads, rainwater outlets
- Soffit and fascia replacement in uPVC board
- Leaf guards and gutter mesh fitted to keep blockages out
- Connection to existing soakaways and gullies
- Rainwater diverters and water butt installation
We also deal with parapet wall lead flashing junctions where gutters meet flat-roof sections. That detail gets missed more often than it should.
A typical installation day
When we arrive on site for a new gutter run, this is how the day usually goes.
- Check the existing fascia condition before a single bracket goes up
- Replace or reinforce any soft or rotten fascia boards first
- Set out bracket positions with correct spacing for the profile chosen
- Establish the fall line. Gutters don't drain themselves flat
- Cut, join, and fix the gutter run with proper union clips and stop ends
- Drop the downpipes, connect outlets, check alignment top to bottom
- Clear the site and run a hose test before we leave
Straightforward work done right. (Half the call-outs we get are fixing jobs somebody else rushed.) However careful the materials are, a bad installation will still leak within a season.
