Depends on the job. For flat roofs we use torch-on felt and fibreglass GRP, both proven systems that handle the Irish climate without falling apart after two winters. Pitched roofs we work with natural slate, concrete tile, and fibre cement slate where the budget calls for it.
We don't push one material over another. What matters is what suits your roof, your house, and what'll last.
